Jeremy has worked with trucks since the age of 8. Working with them at home was something he did every day. Jeremy earned an Associate’s Degree in the Diesel program at Wallace State where he now is on the faculty. He then moved into the industry, working for dealerships. He has bought trucks, owned trucks, driven trucks, and definitely repaired trucks!

Jeremy started teaching in 2009, developing curriculum and programs from scratch. He is motivated by new ways to teach, evaluate the program every year, adding new content and new methods.

 Jeremy stays up to date by working hand in hand within the industry on curriculum development. He works both with experts in the trade and employers to find the skill sets they desperately need right now. Jeremy is also passionate about working with virtual simulated training to create future-forward learning experiences. He believes “In the future training will continue to occur virtually, with live assessments on the employer’s site rather than at the college.”




Johnnie is a Master Electrician who started at age 4 working in the family’s business with his dad, earning $1 per day. Johnnie’s father taught school, and when his father retired, Johnnie took his place. Continuing education is crucial to Johnnie and in high school Johnnie started taking trade classes to master electrical skills and math. In college Johnnie studied Computer Science, and then went into the Navy, giving him a different set of skills. Johnnie finds it important to constantly continue his education because “Things are always changing so you always need to be learning.”

Johnnie ensures that TRANSFR engineers have everything they need to create simulations that allow people to master the skill, going back to the basics to include all skills necessary. Johnnie’s confident that our engineers could go onto a job site as apprentices because they now have a basic skill set to get started.

“If you can get the right people with the right skill and the right attitude, everything else will take care of itself.”




Karen grew up in St. Louis, MO, where Lambert Airport and Boeing have huge footprints. Her father worked for McDonnell Douglas, so Karen was always around aviation. A medical issue prevented Karen from becoming a pilot, so she went the tech route. Karen’s been in aviation maintenance since 1998.

Since 2005 Karen has been teaching Aviation Maintenance at Southern Illinois University, which trains students to work on aircrafts and offers a bachelor's degree. Karen continued her studies, earning a Master’s and eventually her Doctorate in Learning Systems Design and Technologies. This pushed Karen into the digital side of training, eventually leading to AR and VR.

Karen is Secretary-Treasurer of Aviation Technicians Education Council, an advocacy group for aviation maintenance schools across the country, this led her to meet the team at TRANSFR. They are now building hands-on training simulations for all the skills that the FAA requires for aviation maintenance programs.




Myron grew up on a family farm where resourcefulness, repairs, and construction were part of everyday life. Construction looked to be an attractive career path because it is always in demand and pays well. Myron became involved in pipe fitting because it’s a craft that gave him an opportunity to utilize his math skills, after working in refineries and chemical plants he went to college and studied Industrial Technology - Electrical, Robotics, & Automated Systems. Myron’s career opportunities expanded to include training and development during a period when the construction industry was suffering from a severe shortage of skilled craftworkers.

Myron was then recruited by a national association training center to teach NCCER Core and pipe fitting because of his technical skills and successful after-hours teaching experience, Myron was asked to become a master trainer. This meant he could now train other craft instructors. Myron became State Director for Alabama SkillsUSA and went on to establish a craft training center to service the gulf coast petro/chem industry. His continued work with SkillsUSA.
